Rookie French-Canadian Nic Sauvé, like his native tongue, is smooth and fluid. But don’t be fooled by the mellow flow, as Nic is dropping some serious shit. From the fierce and progressive Quebec street scene, Sauvé learned early what it takes to be a contender and he stepped up. To be at the forefront of technical rail riding is a heavy spot to hold (and even easier to lose), and that is where Nic resides. The hunger, the skate influence, and the deep bag of tricks keep him in the mix. And since he joined the Forum team, he’s turned up the heat. When the dust settles in the editing room, Sauvé’s video part will make it very clear where urban snowboarding is headed. ¡Tabernac!

What are the skills and responsibilities of being a snowboarder?
To do your best, push your limits daily, and try not to get hurt.

What makes you want to progress?
I think progress is the reward for trying your hardest every day.

How would you spend your ideal day?
I would skate the bowl in Squamish, BC in the morning, and then go jump off of the swinging rope at Brome Lake for the rest of the day.

What do you think is the most fun thing to do for yourself?
Snowboarding

What would you list as a career highlight?
Just being able to keep up with the crew even after dealing with my knee injuries.

Where there any notable trips in filming for Forum or Against’em?
Not really, every trip we went on was amazing in it’s own way.

In what kind of snowboard environment are you most comfortable?
I’m most comfortable in the streets, you know, urban type stuff.

If you weren’t snowboarding, you would be?
Trying to cure the earth from pollution.

What, if anything, is too serious to be joked about?

What was the last thing you regret buying?
The Planet Earth DVD collection. I bought it from Wal-Mart and it wouldn’t play in any DVD player that I tried it in.

Where do you see yourself when you are 55 years old?
I’m not too sure, but I will do my best not to be on a wheelchair.
