3/10/07 - FELLHORN, GERMANY Back 1st - Patrik Hiob 2nd - Cees Wille 3rd - Niko Pfanzelt Best Girl Rider of the Day: Hannah Goettgens GO TO THE SNAKE SESSIONS PODCAST PAGE The third installment of the European Forum Snake Sessions crew found itself at Fellhorn, the biggest mountain in Germany. International Forum rider Kareem El Rafie took some time out of his shred schedule to come out and host/judge the event for all the German shredders. The local park crew and especially Boogie were super helpful with everything and even organized a radio interview for Kareem and himself to promote the event over the airwaves. After a mouth full of mints he approached the mic, and being the smooth talker that he is, made sure that every listener out there knew what was going down in Fellhorn the next day. The contest day opened up with heavy snowfall and grey skies. Part of the crew decided to take the first staff gondola up at 7:15 (which evetually left at 8:15 instead) and make sure the park was in dope condition. That it was and besides the bad weather, the day was a success! There was a DJ spinning on the decks, kids constantly hiking and hitting the rails with style and grace, Kareem was lurking, and there was yet another tasty BBQ. What else do you need for a chilled out contest day? INTERVIEW WITH THE WINNER - Patrik Hiob Forum: Hey Patrik and congrats on winning the first ever Forum Youngblood contest in Fellhorn! How did you like the contest? Patrik: The weather wasn't really good, but it was totally fun. All the riders were really good, especially Maximilian Lanzl, who won the "Best Trick Try" with a hardway 270 BS Lipslide at the 13 meter down rail! Forum: Are you a local or did you travel far to take part of the Snake Sessions? Patrik: Fellhorn is my home resort, but I even have to drive one hour to get there. Forum: How long have you been riding and what makes it so much fun for you? Patrik: Three years ago I started with jibbing, but I’ve been snowboarding all together for five years now and I love riding with my dudes! The time on the mountain is really, really cool! Forum: Do you ride often and where are you most likely to be found shredding; here in Fellhorn or elsewhere? Patrik: I go snowboarding every weekend between October and May. Most of the time I'm at the Fellhorn Park or at the Crystal Ground. To ride thick kickers we drive to Kaunertal. Forum: Do you like to compete and do you have any plans for more comps in the future? Patrik: I like competitions and I take part at the "Wir Schanzen Tournee". It's a line of a few contests. Forum: What was the best part of today’s Snake Sessions? Patrik: The Atmosphere was really chilled and it was good judging. Only the weather was not so good, but it was just a perfect day! Forum: Was it fun to ride with Kareem today? Patrik: Kareem was really cool. He pushed me a lot, when he said: "COME ON DUDE! NOW YOU GET IT" (Tailpress FS 180 out at the down rail) Forum: With whom do you like riding the most? Patrik: I ride with my best friends Max Lanzl and other sick guys! We push each other to the limit! Forum: Any shouts-outs?
